In an effort to further “protect the herd,” completion of a daily sexual health form is now
required for all faculty, staff and students each day they intend to be on the CU Boulder
campus. Beginning November 1 st , the daily sexual health form must be completed
before you arrive on campus. Here is a copy of the form.
1: Do you currently have any of the following symptoms that are not typical for you?
- Discharge from the penis or vagina
- Sores on the genitals or in the oral or rectal area
- Painful or burning urination
- Bleeding from the vagina or penis
- Pain during sex (unless desired)
2: Do you have an oral, rectal, vaginal or penile temperature over 100.4 degrees
Fahrenheit (38 Celsius)?
3: Have you had sexual contact (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) with anyone
who has been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease (STD-20) in the last 14
days?
4: Have you been tested for STD-20 since the last time you completed this form? (If this
is your first time completing this form, and you have ever been tested, please answer
yes.)
Dr. Ann Mattson, Medical Director of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic at
Wardenburg, said that, “given the COVID-19 quarantine order that has kept people
inside, the new form was issued based on evidence of increasing occurrence and
transmission of STD-20.” The best strategy to avoid STD-20 is total abstinence but
those unable to refrain from sexual activity should stay at least 6 feet away from one
another and limit their contact to 15 minutes or less. “If it takes you more than fifteen
minutes,” Mattson added, “you’re probably doing it wrong anyway.”
